Synod in the Greenfields 2022
It's our turn to build the future!
By 2050, Western Sydney is predicted to be the second-biggest precinct in Australia. We have some catching up to do in providing ministry infrastructure in current and future population growth areas. With exponentially increasing land prices and high construction costs, we can’t apply the same solutions as we have in the past.
The Anglican Church Growth Corporation currently owns land at Marsden Park, Riverstone and Bradfield waiting for funds to be raised to build new churches. The Growth Corporation intends to buy land in Catherine Fields, Box Hill, Wilton Junction, West Dapto, Menagle Park/Gilead, Glenfield/Glenquarie and Werrington/Orchard Hills over the next few years. They also intend to buy land for the Sydney Anglican Indigenous Peoples’ Ministry Committee (SAIPMC).
Each land purchase costs about $4.5-$5.5 million. In the past construction has cost about $5.5M at each site. This means that to build churches in just these locations will cost about $11M.
Growth Corporation is working on some innovative construction methods to reduce the construction costs but we need you to generously partner with us financially if we are to provide new churches in just these growth areas.
Donations to NCNC are directed toward the construction costs of new churches and can be tax deductible for donations ($2 or over) for the Christian Education component of buildings (typically between 25%-35% of the building costs of a new church).
